Yizkor

This form is currently closed.
  • Yizkor Memorial Book

  • The Yizkor prayers are recited in the Synagogue on Yom Kippur and on the final day of each of the three major Festivals: Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkot. In these heartfelt prayers, we ask G‑d to 'remember' the souls of our departed loved ones.

The word Yizkor means "to remember" and it provides a deeply meaningful opportunity for us to connect with those who have passed, keeping their legacy alive in our lives.

At Chabad Owings Mills, we are honored to help ensure that your loved ones are remembered during each Yizkor service throughout the year.

THE POWER OF MEMORY AND GIVING

Memory becomes most powerful when it inspires us to act. When we honor the lives of our loved ones through mitzvot, their memory becomes a living light -- eternal and impactful. For this reason, the Yizkor service includes a pledge to tzedakah (charity), a sacred act in the merit of the soul.
