2020 has been quite a unique year for all of us, and has brought many changes to our lives. One thing must remain - Jewish learning.
We at Chabad Hebrew School have spent countless hours designing a Hebrew School program that will cater to all of our students, no matter the situation during this upcoming year. This new program is titled Bringing it Home: Making Judaism come alive through experiential and interactive learning.
Chabad Hebrew School is offering 2 tracks: An in-person Hebrew School with engaging classes following government health guidelines, and a virtual Hebrew School with live and engaging classes.
Bringing it Home has been developed to ensure that the content is both developmentally appropriate and user-friendly for both settings. The curriculum is scaffolded to cater to each student within three age groups: K-2, 3-5 and 6-8.
Our curriculum has been designed to be taught through a diverse set of mediums, including drama, construction, STEM, and stop-motion animation. The curriculum comprises a number of units, focusing on lessons that are learned from each room of the home. The subjects will come alive as students learn about the Jewish holidays, empathy, respect and integrity, among other life skills and Jewish values while exploring each room of their house.
